Jovanka Popova Unkovska is a curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art – Skopje and at Press to Exit Project Space, an organization dedicated to contemporary art and curatorial practices. She was curator of the North Macedonian Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale and served as curator and coordinator for the 14th Manifesta Biennale Prishtina Parallel Program at MoCA Skopje. She was executive director of the Jadro Association of the Independent Cultural Scene in North Macedonia and president of the Macedonian Section of AICA – International Association of Art Critics. Her curatorial work explores the social and civic role of contemporary art institutions, engaging with issues of representation, inclusion, and relationships with the more-than-human, within distinct positional, cultural, and institutional contexts. She lives and works in Vienna.
