Daniel Milnes (Leeds, UK) has been a curator at DAS MINSK Kunsthaus in Potsdam since 2023, where he is connecting art from the GDR with contemporary art and discourses. In Potsdam he developed the exhibitions “Soft Power”, exploring the political potential of textiles in art, and “IN DIALOGUE”, a large-scale exhibition and oral histories project around art from the GDR from the Hasso Plattner Collection. After a traineeship at Kunstmuseum Stuttgart, he began his curatorial career at Haus der Kunst in Munich, contributing to the exhibition “Postwar” and co-curating the show "Blind Faith", before developing projects for Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin including the Preis der Nationalgalerie 2021. He has organized solo exhibitions with artists including Polina Kanis, Sandra Mujinga, Theodoulos Polyviou, Raphael Sbrzesny, and Katharina Grosse and was part of the curatorial team for the 12th Kaunas Biennial in 2019 After Leaving | Before Leaving.
