Simon Sykora is a Czech artist born in 1990, based in Prague and Pilsen. Sykora graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, Prague in 2019. and participated in the study programs of Unarte Bucharest (2016) and TNUA Taipei (2018). After graduation he did work internship at Sophie Tappeiner Gallery in Vienna. He creates works that explore the feeling of loneliness and disconnection. His paintings convey the experience of existing on the margins and in-between places, often depicting scenes of rural areas, outskirts, and zones of transit. Through the eyes of a wanderer, Šimon's works depict a sense of non-belonging and uprootedness, reflecting his own wanderings in different places.
