Flaviu Rogojan (b. 1990) is an artist, curator, and cultural manager based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. His artistic practice frequently references conceptual art, science and technology, movies, video games, and internet culture to weave narratives that reflect on the nature of social and political relationships.
He studied photography and fine arts at the University of Art and Design in Cluj, where he was involved in organizing student union representation and educational projects, as well as founding and running a students’ gallery called Ataș Project Space.
In 2015, Flaviu Rogojan collaborated with Edith Lázár and Thea Lazăr to found Aici Acolo, a curatorial collective and pop-up gallery project in Romania that transforms unused or abandoned spaces into temporary art spaces, organizes residencies and supports artistic research for emerging artists.
In 2019, he co-founded Off Season, an international artist residency in Albania focused on artistic research and site-specific production around the notion of critical tourism on the Albanian coast. Off Season exhibitions have travelled internationally, and the latest exhibition is currently part of Manifesta 14 in Prishtina/Kosovo.
He is also the curator of Zina Gallery, a contemporary art gallery that opened in 2020 in Cluj.
The residency is organised in the frame of Akademie Schloss Solitude's Eastern European Network exchange program.
